About

Surrounding the site of a former mediaeval priory, Priory Park is a splendid public open space containing magnificent trees which remind us of the planting spirit of landowners over many generations.

The park can be accessed from several small entrances in the wall on Priory Road as well as the main entrance on Coventry Road and an entrance by Priory Medical Centre. As well as a wonderful selection of mature trees, the more careful observer will find a delight of smaller flora in turf which has never seen modern “improving” chemicals.

Warwick Priory Park is what remains of the grounds of ‘The Priory’, originally a Tudor house built on the site of a 12th century priory, which was dismantled in the 1920s and re-erected in Richmond, Virginia USA.

On the embankment behind the trees Chiltern Railways trains depart for Birmingham and London Marylebone.

A walk under a bridge on a path running through the Park will lead you into a further expanse of greenery adorned with a mix of wild flowers, a children’s play area and magnificent old trees which are home to an abundance of wildlife. This area is known locally as Priory Pools which is above to Priory Park and the railway line. Please look on the ‘Map’ tab for further details.
